Greenwood Acres Family Campground, 2401 Hilton Road, near Grass Lake, has more than 1,000 campsites on its 300 acres of land that attract about 700 families during the summer.
“Memorial Day weekend is one of the biggest, if not the biggest camping weekend,” said Sharon Kinchsular, CEO of Greenwood Acres.
The campground is building a new outdoor recreation complex, which will include tennis and basketball courts, a skate park and miniature golf. It already has a restaurant, pavilion, beach, pool, recreation center, wireless Internet and other amenities.
“It’s fun for us to have something new for the returning campers,” Kinchsular said.
